Jamie Merida is a lot like Bountiful, the fashion-forward home furnishings store he founded 13 years ago.  Jamie’s energy and well-developed sense of design pervade Bountiful.  And, with both the store and the man behind it, the more you look the more you see.

Jamie grew up in Belgium and Kentucky surrounded by art and antiques.  His parents, both accomplished artists, ran a thriving fine art gallery and antiques business.  When it came time to make decisions about his own career, however, he chose music.

A trained concert pianist, Jamie earned a degree from the Peabody School of Music in Baltimore.  After that he began a graduate program in business at Johns Hopkins University and worked for two years managing Domino’s Pizza stores in Baltimore’s inner city to gain business experience.

Jamie came to the Eastern Shore to build a business and, he says, found a wonderful way of life in the process.  “You’ll find people from all over the country living on the Shore today and as a result we have a sophisticated, dynamic community that I’m very happy to have become a part of,” he says.

In addition to bringing an exciting array of home furnishings and gifts to the Shore, Jamie is proud of Bountiful’s design team which he leads.  His own design portfolio features high end homes and vacation residences in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, New York, Idaho, and Europe.  His growing roster of commercial work includes the Tidewater Inn, The Inn at 202 Dover, Harbourtown Golf Resort, and St. Michaels Harbour Inn and Marina as well as Scossa and The Coliseum, two hot new Eastern Shore restaurants.
